Camp Owaissi is building a brand new crafts and program building that will be in place prior to the summer of 2021. This building is the largest project that Owaissi has taken on in over 20 years and is the starting point for many exciting projects that are to come.
The new building features the following highlights:
Last year Camp Owaissi celebrated its 70th anniversary, this building is a substantial investment into ensuring that the camp is thriving for the next 70 years. The past year was one of the most challenging years that the camp has had in its history, however we know that we need to continue to invest in the camp and it’s community. Summer camps are an important part of our communities and we look forward to working to continue providing a safe faith and nature based camp that gives youth incredible opportunities and memories.
As we embark on this project, we need your help. This project is going to challenge the financial position of the camp at a time where the upcoming year is filled with uncertainty. We are looking to our community to help us by providing a donation that will go directly towards this new building. All donations are greatly appreciated and we have provided a donation list with associated recognition!
Donations will be accepted through CanadaHelps, as they automatically process tax receipts.
On behalf of the camp staff, board of directors and the diocese of Kootenay, we thank you for your generosity and commitment to ensuring that summer camp remains an important part of our community. We will continue to do all that we can to advocate for youth by ensuring that they get to experience the incredible growth and opportunities that comes with attending camp. We also look forward to welcoming you to an official grand opening and appreciation event, once we can safely do so.
