Camp OAC: A Legacy of Connection and Community

Welcome to Camp OAC!

For over 75 years, Camp OAC has been a treasured children's summer camp, nestled on the stunning shores of Okanagan Lake just north of Kelowna. Since our establishment in 1950, we have proudly hosted thousands of campers, forging generations of friendships and unforgettable summer memories.

The magic doesn't stop when summer ends. Our beautiful, expansive property is available year-round for rentals, serving as a perfect backdrop for everything from corporate retreats and school groups to cherished family reunions and weddings. Camp OAC is truly a sanctuary for all who seek joy, reflection, and connection.

Our Core Commitments

Mission

The Okanagan Anglican Camp meets the needs of all who seek God in a natural environment by nurturing Christian life.

Vision

Our vision is to be a well-utilized, year-round, environmentally sensitive, economically operating, faith-based leadership centre serving all ages and constituents. Because our mission can only be fulfilled through the working of the Holy Spirit, we are committed above all else to be an authentic Christian community where that Spirit can be alive and active.

Values

We acknowledge the necessity of these values to fulfill our mission:

Prayer We acknowledge the centrality of worship and prayer in being open to the Holy Spirit.

Faithful Service We recognize that our primary task in manifesting the Spirit is to serve God faithfully ourselves. We do this by careful attention to:

  • Love: Recognizing and celebrating the diversity, dignity, and interdependence of all people, and indeed all Creation.

  • Honesty: Cutting through the falsehood and self-deception that would deafen us to the Spirit.

  • Integrity: Giving us the courage to act in accordance with the Spirit, despite our fears and limitations.

The Anglican Tradition We acknowledge that to be faithful in prayer and in service, we must be rooted and grounded in the Christian tradition, as expressed and understood within the Anglicanism that is our heritage.

Rising from the Ashes: Our Rebuild Story

Camp OAC was tragically and dramatically impacted by the McDougall Creek Wildfire in August 2023. This devastating event destroyed 26 structures on our property. It was an immense loss, but the spirit, history, and mission of Camp OAC are unbreakable.

Today, we are moving forward with hope and determination. We have transitioned from immediate recovery to a full-scale rebuild effort. This undertaking is more than just construction; it is about honoring our past while laying the groundwork for a dynamic, resilient, and sustainable future. We are committed to building back better and stronger.

We are working diligently toward the ambitious and exciting goal of reopening and welcoming campers back for the Summer of 2026!

Your support is vital in making this incredible comeback a reality. To follow our journey, see architectural plans, and learn how you can contribute to the future of Camp OAC, please see our dedicated Rebuild Page for more information.

Camp OAC is a Safe Space

At Camp OAC we believe that every single person is entitled to a safe space – a space free of fear, bullying, and harassment. We strive to honour our differences and celebrate the unique gifts we bring to the table. Camp OAC does not tolerate violence or hate speech. It is our goal that OAC is a safe place for everyone, and we welcome marginalized groups with open arms.

Camp OAC is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation.
