Frequently Asked Questions!

What is the difference between overnight camp and day camp?

The main difference is that with overnight camp, the campers get dropped off on Monday morning and they get picked up on Friday afternoon. With day camp, the campers get dropped off and picked up each day. The campers will have an awesome time either way and will get to experience all that Camp OAC has to offer.

What is Camp OAC?

Camp OAC is a children’s summer camp located just outside of Kelowna, BC on the beautiful Okanagan Lake. We have over 50 acres of land including beaches and forest which makes us a truly nature based experience. The camp has been in operation since 1950 and has welcomed thousands of campers over the years!

What can we expect at Camp OAC this summer?

In August 2023, Camp OAC lost 95% of our buildings and critical infastructure in the McDougall Creek Wildfire. This fire was devastating and we stand alongside our community as we work to rebuild this incredible place. We are so grateful for all the support that we have received and we are commited to rebuilding a better Camp OAC.

This year, we have put together phase one of the rebuild for Camp OAC. We are doing all that we can to ensure this plan is succesful and we are so grateful for the support of many organizations that have provided guidance and expertise. Summer camp will be different this year but it's still going to be an amazing experience. We are confident that we should be able to operate nearly all of the activites that we have offered in previous years. We are also looking forward to developing new activites and opportunities at Camp OAC. We will share more details and information over the next few months.

What is the difference between Camp OAC and Camp Owaissi?

They are two different names for one great place! We are slowly working to remove Camp Owaissi and to go by Camp OAC. You will see this transition take place over the next few years. At the same time, we are busy rebranding the camp with an awesome new logo that will be out in the next few months. OAC stands for Okanagan Anglican Camp!

Which camp should I register for if my camper is between age groups?

If your camper is between age groups then you can register for either camp. We would recommend selecting the camp that you think will be a better fit for your camper.

For example, if your camper is 11 then they can attend either the Junior or Intermediate camp. If your camper is more mature then the intermediate camp will probably be a better fit however if this is your campers first time at summer camp then the Junior camp will probably be a better option.

Payment & Cancellation Information

Camp fees won't be due until May 1st at the earliest. More information will be sent out at least 14 days prior to the payment deadline. As we work through complex permitting and site requirements, we don't want to take any camper fees until we are 100% certain that we can operate. We are hoping to provide this certainty by April 1st with fees being due as of May 1st. All camp registrations will be fully refundable prior to May 1st.

What if I can’t afford to pay the camp fees?

Camp OAC relies on generous donations from our community to support our bursary fund.

If you are in need of assistance, you can apply for a bursary by contacting the camp director at  director@campoac.com.

If you are able to contribute towards supporting the bursary fund then you can do so by clicking on the donate button while registering. You can also donate through the following link - Donate Now!
