The following positions are now open for applications:

Program Coordinator - The program coordinator works with the camp director to plan and implement the summer camp program. This person is responsible for creating and executing the daily schedule. The program coordinator is the person in-charge of the daily operations of the summer camp. 

Start Date - May 6th

End Date - August 17th

Camp Coordinator - The camp coordinator works with the camp director to look after the well being of all campers and staff. This person is responsible for communicating with families and supporting the cabin leaders.  This position also assist the camp director with administrative tasks.

Waterfront Leader - The waterfront leader is in charge of the waterfront area including planning and implementing all sessions. The waterfront leader needs to be competent and experienced in waterfront activities including free swim, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. They also need to be a qualified lifeguard with experience in open-water lifeguarding. This position is a part of the program team.

End Date - August 17th

Lifeguard - The lifeguard works alongside the waterfront leader to plan and deliver programming at the waterfront. They work together to ensure that all campers and staff are safe while participating in activities such as free swim, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. This person needs to be a qualified lifeguard. This position is a part of the program team.

End Date - August 17th

Arts & Crafts Leader - The arts and crafts leader is responsible for planning and leading arts and crafts sessions as well as supporting the program coordinator with other activities as required. This position is a part of the program team.

Sports Leader - The sports leader is responsible for planning and leading sports sessions as well as supporting the program coordinator with other activities as required. This position is a part of the program team.

Adventure Leader - The adventure leader is responsible for planning and leading adventure sessions as well as supporting the program coordinator with other activities as required. This position is a part of the program team.

Program Leader - The program leader is responsible for planning and leading some of the adventure, sports, and arts and crafts sessions as well as supporting the program coordinator with other activities as required. This position works in a team with the other program leaders to share the different program areas. This position is a part of the program team.

Cabin Leader - The cabin leaders are responsible for supervising and ensuring the well-being of up to 12 campers each week while being assisted by a volunteer junior cabin leader.

Head Cook - The head cook is responsible for preparing 3 meals a day plus snacks for up to 140 campers and volunteers/staff with the assistance of the assistant cook.

Start Date - June 3rd

End Date - August 17th

Assistant Cook - The assistant cooks work with the head cook to prepare 3 meals a day plus snacks for up to 140 campers and volunteers/staff.

Kitchen Assistant - The Kitchen/Program assistant provides assistance to both the kitchen and the programming team under the direction of the program coordinator.

Start Date - June 24th

End Date - August 17th

Maintenance Worker - The maintenance worker assists with keeping the camp operational and in working order. This person will have day to day basic maintenance tasks and will also be able to work on larger maintenance projects as required.

Start Date - May 1st

Staff FAQs
  • What is Camp OAC?
    • Camp OAC is a summer camp located just outside of Kelowna, BC. We welcome approximetely 800 campers to OAC every summer in our school group and summer camp programs. We are traditionally an overnight camp with the campers arriving monday morning and departing Friday afternoon. Staff remain on-site Monday to Friday and then have there weekends to explore the beautiful Okanagan. 
  • How many staff does OAC hire?
    • We typically have a staff team of 25 people that come together to create an amazing experience!
  • What is it like to be a staff member?
    • This depends on your position however you can expect lots of fun and unforgettable memories. 
  • What's the difference between day and overnight camp?
    • The main difference is that the campers leave in the evening instead of staying over. It's still an awesome experience with all the same activties.
