Spend this summer on the beautiful Okanagan Lake, in a wonderfully dynamic and fun community, making a difference in the lives of children! Owaissi Anglican Camp on Okanagan Lake in Kelowna, BC is seeking energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking staff to work in a variety of areas. Camp Owaissi runs a 7 week faith based program over the summer months.. Room and board is all included, and of course, you can't put a price on the experience you will gain, the resume you will build, the friends you will make, and the impact you will have on the children you work with.
Owaissi Anglican Camp welcomes applications from visible minorities, aboriginal people and is an equal opportunity employer. For positions that qualify for the summer career grant, preference will be given to hiring students that are returning to school. All positions listed below are paid positions.
Camp Owaissi hires staff to work contracts ranging from 7 to 14 weeks, beginning in Mid-May or the start of July. The positions listed below include a brief description. For more information, see the job descriptions listed below. The application form is also available at the bottom of this page, all applicants must complete the standard application.
Program Coordinator - In charge of ensuring the camps run smoothly and coordinating all areas of program.
Waterfront Leader - In charge of the waterfront to supervise all activities including free swim, canoeing and kayaking. Also a member of the program staff.
Lifeguard - Works with the waterfront director to assist with all activites at the waterfront and a member of the program staff.
Head Cook - In charge of cooking 3 meals per day for around 100 campers and staff.
Assistant Cook - Works with the head cook to assist with cooking meals.
Arts + Crafts Leader - In charge of the arts & crafts activities at camp and a member of the program staff.
Sports Leader - In charge of sports & wide games at camp and a member of the program staff.
Adventure Leader - In charge of adventure & nature at camp and a member of the program staff.
Program Leader - In charge of running sessions such as adventure, sports and arts & crafts. Also a member of the program staff team.
Cabin Leader - In charge of supervising campers to ensure they are safe and having an amazing time at camp.
Summer Maintenance - Responsible for doing routine maintenance including looking after the grounds, cleaning and other tasks as designated by the Camp Director
