The summer staff at Owaissi is hired on a year-to-year basis each spring. The application deadline for the Program Coordinator is Feb 29/08 or until the position is filled and all other positions March 15 th , 2008 or until filled. The Program Coordinator is a 9 week position. All other positions are 8 weeks starting June 30/08. Room and board is provided on-site.

Camp Owaissi 's programming is faith based in the Anglican tradition with age group camps as well as a family camp for all ages. Activities offered are canoeing, kayaking, waterfront and field games, crafts, music, drama, special theme based programming, out trips, faith education, camp fire and skits. Team players who are enthusiastic, skilful in these areas and energetic about participating in all aspects of Camp life are welcome to apply. All positions require applicants demonstrate commitment to the Christian aims and purposes of the Camp.

Program Coordinator
Provides overall direction, supervision and training of the camp staff and camp programs and activities during the summer camp season to the satisfaction of the board of Directors. The applicant must have excellent organizational and leadership skills, be able to supervise and delegate authority and relate well to all age groups.
Waterfront/Sports Leader
Will develop and supervise the camp waterfront program and activities during the summer camping season with, and to the satisfaction of the Summer Camp Director.
The applicant must have Bronze Cross and current NLS, knowledge of water-based activities including swimming, canoeing and games, have excellent organizational and leadership skills and be able to supervise children.
Lifeguard/Sports Leader
Will assist the Waterfront Program Director in supervising the camp waterfront and activities during the summer camping season and perform miscellaneous camp duties when not working specifically as a Lifeguard. The applicant must have Bronze Cross and current NLS, knowledge of water-based activities including swimming, canoeing and games, have excellent organizational and leadership skills and be able to supervise children.
Craft/Music/Drama Leader
Organizes the craft hut and supplies
Teaches and leads campers/youth leaders in planning music and drama
Team member in planning and implementing other programming when required.
This applicant should have knowledge of drama and craft activities appropriate for camp aged children, lots of energy and be musically inclined.
Camp Cook
Responsible for supervision of the kitchen, its operations, cleanliness and maintenance, within the standards of the Health Act of B.C. and to the satisfaction of the Camp Director. The applicant is also responsible for preparation of meals and snacks according to a pre-determined menu plan.
The applicant must be able to supervise and delegate authority and relate to all age groups. Food Safe Course is required.
Assistant Camp Cook
Is responsible for assisting the cook in all related duties.
Applicant must be willing to take directions and follow instructions. Food safe course is preferred but not mandatory.
Kitchen Aide
Is responsible for assisting in the overall clean up of the kitchen area and assisting in meal preparation.

Youth Leaders
Youth leaders are the heart of Owaissi. They cultivate positive relationships with campers and provide a fun and safe environment. Interviews/training held April 5/08 @ Camp Owaissi from 10am to 2pm. Lunch provided.  Bring resume.

July 3 to 5 there will be leaders in training for all Youth Leaders selected. 14 years and over.
"New Position" Maintenance Assistant (Part-Time Position)
Physically able to perform duties such as grass-cutting and watering, cleaning and minor repairs. Responsible to the Camp Director. Mature individual or couple preferred.

Note: Compensation for this position could be 'Free' camping for the season (location for trailer or RV would be provided, with access to common washrooms, fridges etc.)
